About the Homeowners:
Gabrielle & Sebastian Jackson, Indian Village
Sebastian Jackson is the Founder and CEO of The Social Club Grooming Co., a men's grooming brand with two barbershop locations in Detroit. Gabby Jackson is the COO of The Social Club Grooming Co. and also works in Fulfillment Operations at Bloomscape, a startup located in Detroit. They purchased their home in Indian Village two years ago to be closer to their business and their children's school. Their first year in the home was spent preparing the house to begin renovations. They removed a house full of carpet to reveal the original hardwood floors. Cleaned up the overgrown yard, and removed wood from the deck that was in disrepair. They have now begun to have work done both inside and outside, refinishing the floors, sandblasting the home, painting most rooms and overall giving the house an unlifted look. They still have many projects to do, as they prepare for their home to be on the Indian Village Home and Garden Tour in September 2021.
Erika Linenfelser, North End
Erika is an urban planner for the City of Detroit, co-founder of a small design practice, Studio M+E, and recently renovated a duplex she bought from the DLBA in Detroit’s North End neighborhood. While Erika grew up in Texas and Massachusetts, her roots in Michigan go back 5 generations, and she is happy to call Detroit home. She is constantly delving into new projects, teaching herself new trades, and is currently turning her attic into a 1 bedroom studio and transforming her beautiful brick garage into a common hang out spot.
