Brick + Beam Detroit

This grassroots guide, put out by the Michigan Historic Preservation Network and National Trust for Historic Preservation, offers step-by-step instructions for local groups or individuals who want to save a building in their communities. It was created to serve as an introduction to saving a historic community building. There will be additional and ongoing work including fundraising, grant writing, hiring contractors, and managing the rehabilitation project, but the guide reminds us that, "preservation always starts with the thoughtful commitment of a small group of dedicated citizens, and the results of your efforts will be a lasting gift for your community."
