Do you live in or own a brick home or building? Are you a local handyman, contractor, or building superintendent? Curious about what brick repair may entail? Join Brick + Beam Detroit and Integrated Conservation Resources, Inc. (ICR) for a hands-on masonry repair and repointing class!
Learn about the properties of mortar (and why it's so important to get it right), how to assess and match your mortar, techniques for old mortar removal and how to mix new, and get first-hand experience repointing masonry all live on site at a brick home in Northeast Detroit!
Due to big demand, we will hold TWO classes onSaturday, July 23, from 9-11 am and from 2-4 pm. Register for whichever works best for you!
Class registration fee is $10, which will help us supply you with everything you need (including extra water and snacks)!
The class will take place right off of Van Dyke between Seven Mile and East Outer Drive. We'll share the exact address with registered participants the day before the event.
