Brick + Beam / DWEJ / Write A House /// 2017 Volunteer House Clean Out Day

Join us on Saturday June 17th! 

Brick + Beam Detroit is partnering with Write A House and DWEJ for an interior demo day! We invite volunteers willing to get a little dirty to a volunteer house clean out day a 521 E Euclid in Detroit. This former land bank property was purchased by the 501(c)3 nonprofit to be renovated as the long term home for a Detroit writer. This kick off event for the renovations will aim to strip the house of junk, carpet, and other light debris to clean it for renovations by the Future Build arm of DWEJ. 

Volunteers should be properly dressed in clothes that can get dirty and safe footwear for light demo. If you have a mask, bring one, otherwise they'll be provided for you. Gloves will also be provided. The clean out starts at 10:30 am but volunteers will be there until 2 pm so late arrivals are encouraged to come and contribute what they can. All help goes a long way toward turning blight back into a home!

From 9:30-10:30 am, Brick + Beam Detroit will host a breakfast of bagels and coffee for a chance to meet and mingle with fellow property owners, residents, and rehabbers. Location is 34 West Bethune in New Center (head to the back) where there will also be bathroom access for those staying for the demo day event.
