I have a small older home in SW Detroit that needs work, but, I would like to get an opinion whether I should invest money in the repairs. Does anyone know of an individual to make an assessment?
House needs roof,, windows, replacement of rotted wood and siding.

This is definitely a big need in the city and we have yet to really identify someone whose role it is to do exactly this. I would recommend reaching out to Da Brick House inspection team. Skip Stackhouse is a whiz with old homes and he and his team, who focus primarily on inspections, I have found to be great at helping to identify and phase a house's needs (i.e. do this first, that's less critical, that's superficial, etc.). They're in the contractor list on this website under inspecting. Let us know how things turn out!

None of the contractors on the Brick & Beam list that were contacted followed through. I scheduled appts with several contractors (by specialty) to get estimates, but they either didn’t show and never called back or never returned my call.
