How to prepare a car for transportation
I'm going to ship my car from New York to California, and the moving company gave me some tips on how to prepare, but I'd be interested to hear from real people. If you've ever transported a car between states, what preparatory steps really helped you avoid problems?

As soon as I started driving on toll roads, I got a pass through FasTrak. Everything is convenient, no need to stop, just drive through and that's it. But somehow the meter started writing off amounts strangely. I had to look for a fastrak phone number to directly clarify what was wrong. It's good that I got through quickly and the issue was resolved in a couple of minutes.
My tip is to remove any personal items from the car. I also made sure to check the carrier’s insurance coverage to be sure I was fully protected in case of any issues. One thing I found particularly helpful was confirming the car towing services with the carrier. If possible, go for an enclosed transport if your car is valuable or you want extra protection.
