I secured the house with plywood screwed securely into the house, using 2.5" 9d screws.
I learned that calling ahead to make sure that the hardware store of choice can cut the boards is a very wise idea. Also, it may be cheaper to procure precut boards for common smaller sizes (such as 2' x 4') if the store charges by the cut. Worth taking some calculations on number of cuts per board...
I also cut down most of the vegetation and bagged it up. I'm going to have to see what starts growing as spring arrives before I go to kill undesirable plants.
