Stories of Home Repair "Hustle" with Amy Haimerl

Brick + Beam Event

6:30pm on Apr 22 2016

Assemble Sound: 2300 17th Street

We're delighted to host an evening with Amy Haimerl, author of the forthcoming memoir Detroit Hustle about her experience moving to Detroit and rehabbing a historic home in West Village with no plumbing, electrical or heat.

And we invite you to bring your story to share on the theme of "home repair hustle." Don't be shy! Tell us what kind of moves you had to make to get your project done. Our storytelling nights are very low-key and all are welcome to participate. (You're also welcome to just listen!)

Our venue for the evening is Assemble Sound, housed in a historic 1871 church building in Corktown. Come check it out and take a tour of this ambitious rehab-in-progress! (Learn more about Assemble Sound here.)

Bring some useful extras from your improvement projects for our Take One, Leave One table. Have leftover paint, wallpaper, tools, or supplies? Swap 'em!

Meet others fixing up their buildings and have some good food and refreshments on us. We're geared up for an exciting evening and we're looking forward to seeing you there!

Event is FREE, but let us know you're coming! RSVP here: homerepairhustle.eventbrite.com
